Food Dudes in Kill Devil Hills

Cozy spot with excellent food and a nice selection of food and drink. Perfect for the whole family. The staff was very helpful, friendly and super attentive. One of my new favorite spots.

Nachos were great but rest of food was decent. Not sure what all the hype is though. Staff was friendly but small sitting area.

Fantastic food! We went with a party of nine. We were quickly seated (4:45pm), before the dinner rush started. Five members of our party had the crab cake basket (2 crab cakes, waffle fries, and coleslaw). One had the blackened fish sandwich. Another had the blackened fish tacos. All of the seafood was delicious. The crab cakes were the BEST we had all week! Portions were enormous. While all of the crab cakes and fish were devoured, we took two enormous takeout containers of fries home. Two years in a row, Food Dudes Kitchen does not disappoint!!

Outstanding meal for a small place. Had the peppered seared tuna tacos. Perfect balance of tuna, pepper, wasabi, and cole slaw. Decent selection of bottled craft beer available. Cheesecake desserts were also very good. Be prepared to wait during peak hours.

Got the fish tacos and the bajan chicken sandwhich. I thought it to be very good, bf thought it was okay. Prices were pretty standard for being on the coast and for what we ordered. The lack of side options are really disappointing...in order to even try the other sides it's a $2 upcharge which is just insane. The sides they are offering should be free. Other than that, you should try it out!

This place is fantastic! The employees work hard and fast to bring out food that has clear attention to detail and flavors that will wow you. Sure, depending on the hour you get here, there will be a wait, but you won't be disappointed! The portions are huge and prices are very reasonable!

Great food. Love the fried Bajan chicken sandwich. You can't go wrong with their taco nights. And their hot sauce is killer!

Very nice portions with the meal. The staff are very friendly and laid back. Main reason I am leaving a review.... Get the Tomato Basil Clam Bisque if avaliable....no questions.....just order it. You will not be disappointed.

Great food. Small and cozy. Service was not very friendly. Great seafood. My son said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had. Loved the spring rolls, fresh fish and shrimp bowl. Happy to support a small, local joint!

Next Level Food (Dude). Next Level. The Blackend Salmon Wrap with pesto, goat cheese and slow roasted tomato sauce is insane. Go get one. Right now. Go.Like, now.

this place makes up for it's lack of curb appeal with REALLY good food and atmosphere. it's small, but worth the wait!! we will definitely return!!

"Hidden gem"I think FDK is a hidden gem though it's likely to be a very famous place. It's off the main NC-12 road of tourist traps but for me it's a good thing. We are very happy and fortunate to stumble upon FDK during our vacay to OBX. The food is amazingly good. We had the grilled mahi tacos, blackened salmon wrap, and crabcake sandwich. They were all fantastic! Freshly prepared and very flavorful. They also serve local craft brew to compliment the menu. These guys are passionate about their food and you can tell from the quality of everything they serve. Check them out and you will be back! Wish we had time to go again during our vacay but will definitely be back next time!

Delightful lunch! Homemade chips and salsa so fresh i blushed. We both had the fajitas wrap special...Mahi-Mahi with all kinds of good stuff. This was our first time in, but definitely won't be our last. Great artwork hanging on the walls.

FDK always delivers, we have been visiting the restaurant for about 5 years and have always enjoyed the food and service. Definitely the best chicken nachos and grilled fish tacos on the beach.

Tiny place in an unassuming spot... A REAL TREASURE!!! Atmosphere was fun and welcoming! The gentlemen running, serving and cooking were all amazing and treated you like an old friend! The food... CLEARLY A LABOR OF LOVE!!! Beautifully presented! Used fresh local seafood! Specials were on point!!! These guys take a lot of pride in what they do and it shows!!!Highly recommended!!!

The mahi mahi fish tacos were the best o ever had. I had them fried. They were not at all greasy. Just enough coleslaw that was not heavy on the mayonnaise. The chicken wings were amazing. The tacos came with black beans rice and a fresh picadillo. From the menu and the looks of the place you would think the food would be meh. But everything we had was delicious. The folks there are very friendly and service is amazing. We got there a around 1130 am and the place was starting to fill up. I will say there house made hot sauce was delicious. I bought two bottles. I am sure it's not for everyone but I enjoyed it.

Do Not Miss Trying This Place!! We looked at google reviews and decided to try it. We're not surf-shack-vibe kinda people (late 50's) but we were treated great. Warm, friendly staff. Fish Tacos are killer. By far the best food we ate at OBX all week and we ate out every night. Will go out of my way to go again next time even if we are way up in Corolla.

It was nice to walk into the holiday spirit; as this restaurant was nicely decorated for Christmas. A little music would of kicked it up an extra notch.Food was fresh, hot, delicious, and of high quality! Also, all our meals were huge portions. A whole lot of awesome food for 10 bucks. I was really impressed. Service was very personable, positive, and friendly. A really nice experience.

Great quality with great ingredients. Really enjoyed the salads with catch of day and the tacos.

Tuna tacos with wasabi was amazing. Enjoyed the vibe and being able to watch surf videos while eating good food. My son is picky but loved the chicken tenders. All very good as was the service. The place is not very big but they have seating at their bar as well.

Went for dinner on a Thursday evening off season. Small place with seats for about 16 and 8 seats at the bar. Had about a 10 minute wait. The only menu was their taco menu (Taco Thursdays?). Beer and wine only with the beer in cans and bottles, nothing on tap. Had the chicken tacos and the fried mahi tacos. The fish was good but the chicken was too dry. Had the key lime pie for desert. Tasted like it was right from the box and had hints of being in the refrigerator too long. Would have been better off taking my $7 and buying a whole pie at Food Lion. Sorry Dudes, won't be back.

It’s an amazing lunch. Virtually everything on the menu is world class, with a down-home approach. I highly recommend any of the fish salads, sandwiches, or wraps.

Had the black bean burger and it was delicious! Even my picky son was able to find something to eat! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was lovely.

Great food! The pulled pork BBQ sandwich and mahi mahi fish tacos were excellent. Very quick service as well.

This place was awesome! Found it randomly and I’m so happy we did. I shared the bbq tacos and southwestern steak wrap with my sister. We loved it! Left with a smile and a full belly❤️❤️❤️

I had the blackened mahi mahi salad with grilled red peppers and onions artichokes and feta cheese The roasted tomato vinegar rat dressing in it was amazing.

Awesome as usual! A mash up of American, Mexican, and sometimes Aisian cuisine. The daily specials are always excellent. Try the pork tacos. Tonight we had pork chimichangas and shrimp quesadillas.

I would not recommend the wings. Seen another wings picture in the reviews and I'll tell you mine didn't look like that. 1 wing 8 drum sticks and they are normally cooked, not crispy. Kinda looked like they had some hot sauce like Frank's red hot and just poured some on and didn't mix it. Also ordered ranch and received blue cheese. The other food that was ordered looked nice.

My FAVORITE restaurant on ALL of the Outer Banks. I spend my summers here and I've been to many different restaurants and this is my go to. The food is so fresh, clean, and delicious and is inexpensive. Shrimp enchiladas are the best and you must try their blueberry lemon cheesecake or key lime pie.

Small locals restaurant, with AMAZING food. This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend of my wife, we were not disappointed at all. This is a very small restaurant and getting a table can be hard at times. The food is worth the wait.

Food was great, the staff was very friendly, on top of everything and seemed to enjoy working there and being accomodating. Got the wings, and were awesome, even though a little spicy for my taste. (I'm a mild/slightly medium guy). Also saw cooking staff make special requests possible (corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas) while bringing back rest of meal, so customers didn't have to sit at table with any food. Very good local place to go. If i visit kill devil hills again, this will be on the stop

Food Dudes is absolutely my favorite place to eat when I go down the Outer Banks. We travel from Massachusetts to the Outer Banks every year and the trip just would not be the same without Food Dude Nachos. I know I am on vacation when it starts with Food Dudes. Great food, great place, great staff, this truly epitomizes the phrase good things come in small packages. Referring to the building size of course, portion size is awesome.

I got the southwest steak wrap and it was delicious. The food was fast and fresh. I'd recommend going for lunch, there isn't a ton of seats. Definitely can recommend this place and will be going back!

Well worth the wait. Mahi mahi in the tacos was deeply juicy, The fries were epic, and the shrimp amazing. Ok to get a beer to wait outside. Kid friendly also.

Food is delicious, every time. We tried Food Dudes at the suggestion of a foodie friend and were not disappointed. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is friendly. Great place to get delicious meal.

I honestly don't want to share details because the place is so good. I had blackened crab cakes with waffle fries and homemade coleslaw. I hate typical coleslaw but their's isn't mayo based and was excellent. I live in the DC area near Baltimore and I'm very picky about crab cakes, these were excellent. I told the bartender I wish I had two stomachs to order another as the food was that good. The bad news is you have to go off hours as the place is tiny. Thankfully I went when it was slow and there was plenty of space at the bar. Highly recommended.

Went to plenty of places... I wish I would have found this place on day one! Best place, get the nachos with blackened chicken and steak and cheese wrap. Phenomenal experience! Worth the wait!

Their Fajita Maui wrap was awesome. My friend had the blackened Maui over jasmine rice wasibe aoli and she loved it.. Their waffle fries are a great appetizer.

Small but great place for a quick bite! Food was great along with the wait staff. Good selection of NC craft beers. Set in a small strip mall so it's kinda hard to see just riding by. Right on the beach road. Will return!
